Ericka Z. Schaefer Hanley, ChFC®, is the owner and founder of Luminary Planning LLC, an independent financial planning practice based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ericka works with clients to bring clarity and confidence to every stage of their financial life - from buying a first home, to sending kids off to college, to stepping into retirement. She's especially passionate about serving underrepresented communities and believes that thoughtful, personalized planning shouldn't be reserved for the few. Her approach is collaborative and straightforward: she meets people where they are, listens closely, and builds a plan that reflects their real goals and values.
Ericka lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Phil, and their two miniature dachshunds, Macaroni and Rigatoni. She's active in community mutual aid work, including leading financial literacy workshops designed to make financial education more accessible. When she's not with clients, you'll likely find her at the barn riding and competing with American Saddlebreds, or behind the decks DJing under the name "zttl."
